SECT CrossFit offers small-group CrossFit instruction through the Workout of the Day (WOD) classes. These classes have ability to be scaled/modified to virtually anybody's current fitness level, so there's no need to fear that you "can't do it". Our instructional methods and programming are based on CrossFit, and methods from coaches such as Mark Rippetoe, Greg Everett and Mike Burgener. Our overall goal is to develop General Physical Preparedness (GPP) within you. This is aimed at increasing your work capacity, range of physical abilities, and making you better at Activities for Daily Living (ADLs). Certain areas of fitness can be targeted to help you better meet more specific goals you may have, such as increased strength, power, or speed. Each athlete is given up to one hour per class and during this time will most likely complete:
1. A warm-up/stretch period
2. Skill Acquisition & Development
3. Workout of the Day (WOD)
4. Warm-down/stretch period
This will all take place under the watchful eyes of one, or more, of our instructors. Each athlete will receive hands-on coaching and feedback regarding form, biomechanics, overall performance, etc. In essence, each athlete is receiving semi-private coaching and program design, without the usual cost associated with that type of instruction. Classes are kept at a 6:1 athlete-to-instructor ratio to ensure that the highest quality service is being delivered. The energy and vibe that a small group atmosphere brings is highly underestimated, but it is one of the cornerstones of the CrossFit exercise experience.
